Enel & Chile’s New Wind Farm

Italian utility Enel are finalising a deal in Chile for a new Wind Power Farm. The agreement between the Chilean Ministry of National Assets, the Ministry of Energy and Enel is being finalised at present. The new wind farm is to be located in the district of Taltal, which is just under 1,000 miles north of Santiago.

The agreement is subject to feasibility studies and impact assessments for the environment. The farm is to total 33 wind turbines with an expected capacity of 99 MW. This is hoped to generate in the region of 329 million kWh per year of clean renewable energy. Once this project is operation it will deliver the energy to the Central Grid Transmission system (SIC)
